Eagle with Salmon

An eagle has just returned from the river with a salmon in its claws.

Vernon Pine Jr. receives his inspiration from wildlife in Northern Idaho.

Vernon creating wildlife sculptures from blocks of cedar.

Vernon Pine lives in Northern Idaho, where he observes black bears and cubs in his own back yard. Occasionally, a mother bear rears on her back legs swinging her front legs in an intimidating gesture to protect her cubs. Eagles roosting in old growth trees swoop down and pull a salmon from mountain rivers. On the river banks they feast on their catches. These are the sites and images in nature Vernon and his family live among. When Vernon picks up a chain saw he magically transforms blocks of cedar into young bears chasing butterflies, or a ferocious mother bear protecting her cubs. These wood sculptures make wonderful yard and home decorations. We are fortunate to have Vernon stopping by our orchard this summer to carve and create his fanciful wood sculptures.

Garden Sticks from the Metal Waterfall Gallery

Copper and bronze garden sticks

Ron Orcutt creates fantasy from copper and bronze. From towering waterfalls to garden sticks for your morning glories, Ron's creations will brighten up your home or garden. Ron takes bleached white root balls from ancient forest trees and transforms them into bubbling, splashing waterfalls landing in alpine ponds full of lily pads and cattails. Adding one of Ron's waterfalls to your living room or deck will bring the serenity of a Pacific Northwest forest into your home. And, you don't have to pack a tent, or climb 3000 feet straight up to enjoy it.

Orchard Fruit Box labels.

Hank Manriquez at www.Leavenworthcards.com was kind enough to lend me the following images. Apple and pear box labels are great collector items. Many have disappeared over the years due to fire, and disposal by the brand owners. Each label was a work of art commissioned by the fruit grower. Scarce labels today are worth thousands of dollars. Here are some of my favorites.
